Food Aid Distribution

1. Executive Summary

On September 4, 2024, MADA successfully distributed food aid to 170 displaced families in the outskirts of Mogadishu. This initiative aimed to alleviate the harsh living conditions faced by vulnerable populations affected by ongoing humanitarian crises. The distribution included essential food items to support the health and well-being of families, particularly focusing on children and women.


2. Project Objective

The primary objective of this project was to improve the living conditions of displaced families suffering from severe hardships due to ongoing humanitarian challenges. By ensuring access to basic food needs, the initiative aimed to enhance the health and stability of the most affected groups within these communities.


3. Project Details

  • Number of Beneficiary Families: 170 families (approximately 1,000 individuals)
  • Distributed Items:
    • Rice: 25 kilograms per family
    • Cooking Oil: 6 liters (2 jerry cans) per family

4. Distribution Process

The food distribution event took place in a safe and accessible location on the outskirts of Mogadishu, where families gathered to receive their aid. Volunteers and community leaders facilitated the process, ensuring an orderly and efficient distribution.


5. Project Impact

The food aid distribution is expected to have the following impacts:
