DAWA Somalia Strengthens Community-Based Protection and GBV Response in IDP Camps

In partnership with OXFAM under the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA), DAWA Somalia conducted a specialized training for 4 mobilizers and 24 community volunteers to strengthen community-based protection systems in selected IDP camps in Mogadishu, Somalia. The training covered psychosocial support, psychological first aid, safe GBV referral pathways, data collection, and integrated protection protocols, equipping participants with the skills needed to better support GBV-affected women and other vulnerable groups within displaced communities. This initiative reflects DAWA Somalia’s continued commitment to enhancing local capacity and improving access to safe, responsive, and community-based protection services through strong strategic partnership.
